The Still
No signal. No hardware. No registration. The Empire's grid looks right through you.
Archetype: Void-field controller — no Essa, no hardware
The Still is the absence of Essa. Not the absence of ability — the absence of Essa signature. Other practitioners channel Essa through Rigs or bodies and the Empire's Suppression Grid reads them. You produce nothing the grid can detect. The Void is not Essa. It is what Essa displaces. You move things without touching them. You hold creatures without chains. You walk through walls.
In the World
The documentation on Void practitioners doesn't exist — the Citadel of the Still destroyed it after the Collapse. The Empire has no regulatory framework for the Void because the Void has no frequency to regulate. Void Techniques cannot be detected by Scan, cannot be shut down by Sever, and cannot be suppressed by the Grid. From a bureaucratic standpoint, the Still does not exist.
Key Mechanic: Void Pool
Void generates passively at +1 per round in combat, +1 when you successfully control a creature, +1 when a creature under your Concentration fails a save. Techniques cost 2–3 Void. No vials. No Feedback Save. No Burn. Void resets each combat. You can maintain Concentration on 2 Void effects simultaneously (3 at Level 18).
Essa Interaction
No Essa. No Rig. No Burn Track. No Feedback Save. Void Techniques are undetectable by Scan, unseverable by Sever, and invisible to the Suppression Grid. The Void is the structural opposite of Essa — what Essa displaces rather than what Essa is.
Techniques
Teleport 20 ft to a space you can see. No opportunity attacks. At Level 5: through solid matter, costs only 1 Void.
Levitate a creature or object. STR save or Restrained while Lifted. Enhancement: lift multiple targets simultaneously.
One creature cannot spend EP on enhancements for 2 rounds. Enhancement: block all Technique use. WIS DC save. Undetectable.
One creature: Frightened of you, must move away. WIS save. Enhancement: affect all creatures within 30 ft.
Incapacitate one creature. Speed 0. Attacks have advantage; hits from 5 ft are crits. CON save. Undetectable.
Restrained + no Reactions. CON save. Concentration up to 1 minute. Enhancement: also Incapacitated.
