What Moves Below
Something beneath a specific coordinate is affecting Leviathan behavior at the species level.
The ley echo anomalies are not isolated. Something beneath a specific coordinate is affecting Leviathan behavior at the species level.
What Is Actually Happening
Experienced Leviathan hunters in Ragged Hook have noticed changes in migration patterns, aggregation behavior, and — most concerning — a coordinated avoidance of specific water columns that were previously prime hunting territory. The ley echo anomalies that the silenced crew found are real and ongoing. Something beneath a specific coordinate in the Drowned Spine is producing a signal that the Leviathans are responding to at the species level. The Serak Vault-Keepers have classified this coordinate in their pre-Ignition records. The Church of Flame has an overlapping classification in their suppressed architectural archive. Neither party has shared this with the other.
What It Looks Like From Outside
The hunting has been off for six weeks. Experienced crews are avoiding the Drowned Spine during off-cycle periods. The official explanation is seasonal migration variation. The experienced hunters know that's not what this is.
Entry Points
Four independent ways players can stumble into this thread.
- Red Marrox mentions to the players that he noticed something off at a gravewater coordinate last month and never went back to check it.
- A Leviathan hunting contract takes the players near the Drowned Spine during an off-cycle period.
- Thread 1 cross-reference: the crew's pre-voyage filing references the coordinate explicitly.
- The deep-processing wing worker (Thread 4) asks the players to help understand something they experienced in the Drowned Spine three weeks ago.

DM Presentation Guide
This is the deep thread — the one that connects everything to the world's history. Play the ley echo anomalies as genuinely unsettling: not dramatic, just wrong. Water that sits too still. A depth sounder that registers nothing where there should be bottom. A Leviathan that surfaces briefly, looks at the players' boat with what seems like attention, and submerges. The horror is not danger — it is implication.
